Raising food as naturally as possible is what the farmers of Painted Hand Farm strive to do. Using sustainable farming practices, this farm produces goat meat, veal, grass fed beef, pastured poultry, and organically raised herbs and vegetables. Pesticides, herbicides, hormones, and antibiotics are never used. A few sustainable practices Painted Hand Farm utilizes are mowing with goats and rainwater collection. Instead of using petroleum dependent machinery to keep weeds under control on the farm, the goats are placed in the targeted areas. Rainwater collection cuts back on the need to run the water. Just two tenths of rainwater off of half of the barn provides Painted Hand Farm is 100 gallons of fresh water. This water can then be used to water plants or the animals. These are just a few examples of the practices that make this a sustainable farm.

The veal come from a local dairy are fed a non-medicated milk-based replacer while on pasture. The poultry are raised on pasture, as well. Finally, the herbs and vegetables are organically raised.
