The Reston Farmers Market, located in the Lake Anne Plaza every Saturday morning from May to October, is a great place to buy locally grown produce, cheeses, meats, and more! Voted the best farmers market in Northern Virginia and also located on the summer hit list by the Northern Virginia Magazine, this is somewhere you want to find yourself on a Saturday morning. Located right on the water and with tons of friendly vendors, many of the locals come out and enjoy themselves regularly. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed! 

With over 20 vendors, you are sure to find what you're looking for. A week ago I headed down to the market and purchased some delicious mozzarella cheese and locally grown nectarines! This farmers market has popcorn and sweet treats to choose from, too! So if you're in the mood for some fresh blueberries to put into pancakes, some popcorn to eat later while watching your favorite movie, or heirloom tomatoes to make sauce with, you only need to make one stop and that stop is at the Reston Farmers Market. 

Not only does the RFM provide for the community members who come to the market each week, it also is helping to end hunger. Every week as the market is closing, volunteers from the Reston Interfaith food pantry come and ask for donations. Each week, they leave with bins full of local produce, baked goods, and more! The farms in Northern Virginia are really doing their part to help the community and we should all do the same and support our local farms! 

Along with great tasting food, bluegrass band Split String Soup plays every Saturday morning! So you aren't just supporting local agriculture at the RFM but you're also supporting the local arts!
