I am a Dave Ramsey fan. He is the man who
made millions before age 26, lost it all and then made millions
more helping people get out of debt. He is the author of The Total
Money Makeover. It is a book that walks people through a step by
step process of gaining financial freedom through becoming debt
free using 7 "Baby Steps". One of his catch phrase is "Live like no
one else now, so later you can live like no one else. I love
when he tells people one way to cut expenses is to eat rice...

What you are about to read may sound silly but
I dare you to give it a try. The next time you are on a farm,
tell a joke to a pig. Why? "Happy pigs produce excellent and
succulent pork!" hat is what the farmers at
South Texas Heritage Pork believe and so they
do their best to keep their pigs fat and happy.
Heritage
breeds were the first generation of pigs to be introduced into
the pork industry. They consist of the English Large Black which
produces the tastiest bacon, my favorite breakfast meat...

When
you think of breakfast, you usually think of sausage and eggs or
bacon and eggs. Rarely do you think of chicken and eggs. This year
one of my resolutions is to save money and use what I have in
the refrigerator to make meals rather than going out to get one or
two items everyday that I think are the "missing" ingredient.
This will cut out you having to settle for lower quality foods from
grocery stores in between farmers market visits.
So, I had some leftover baked chicken in my...

In case
you didn't know, let me be the first one to tell you that
the saying, "There is no place like home", is very, very true."
I was born and raised in Texas and have lived here all of my
life. The first fourteen in San Antonio and the last 17 in the
Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Let me be the first to tell you that not
only is everything bigger in Texas, but everything tastes better as
well.
That is why shopping in large metro areas like the Farmers Market
San Antonio, Houston, Austin, etc. is an...

Being
a Texan and growing up in San Antonio, there were two
condiments that we always had in our home, salsa and avocados. Yes,
in my household, avocados were considered condiments. They
went on sandwiches, in salads and soups, with crackers, etc. It was
a spread, dipping sauce, you name it. I can still to this day
eat an avocado with every meal in some type of shape, form or
fashion.
Fallbrook, California is known to be "The Avocado Capitol of the
World". That is where Pedro's Avocado Ranch is...
