Being a Texan and growing up in San Antonio, there were two condiments that we always had in our home, salsa and avocados. Yes, in my household, avocados were considered condiments. They went on sandwiches, in salads and soups, with crackers, etc. It was a spread, dipping sauce, you name it. I can still to this day eat an avocado with every meal in some type of shape, form or fashion.

Fallbrook, California is known to be "The Avocado Capitol of the World". That is where Pedro's Avocado Ranch is located. Unfortunately, I am still in Texas and many miles away from Pedro's Avocado Ranch, but a girl can dream right? Or I can face the wonderful reality of their online farmers market and shop there. In addition to beautiful Haas avocados and lamb Haas avocados, they also grow tropical dragon fruit, cherimoya, persimmons and pomegranates when in season.

If you already shop at farmers market Los Angeles locations, go online to see when they will be near you and come on out and buy some of the best avocados in the world, or so they say. I will have to taste and see for myself. Pedro's Avocado Ranch is certified organic, so there is no need to worry about how they are grown, just come out to the Hollywood Farmers' Market any Sunday year round from 8am-1pm and grab some for yourself.
